My Approach to Sleep Coaching

While I bring a knowledge of sleep science, best practices, and a host of proven ideas to help you reach your goal of a well-rested family, I believe that YOU are the expert on YOUR child. You have spent more time with your child than I have, and we will use your input in developing the best approach to better sleep. I will meet you where you are!

I ask that you trust the process that I introduce, giving it ample time to work. Anytime you introduce a new way of doing something to a baby or small child, there will be protest involved. Babies and children don’t like change….almost as much as adults! But if you commit to the process, you will see improvements! And we will celebrate each positive step along the journey.

I believe that a strong sleep foundation is extremely important for the growth and development of every child. Adequate restful sleep allows children to function at their highest potential. When children aren’t able to achieve deep, restorative sleep, their ability to learn is impacted, their development of new skills is impeded, and their ability to handle stress is lessened. If you’ve ever seen a toddler falling apart around 5pm, you know what I mean!

Most sleep issues are behavioral. We can address these issues together with guidance, consistency, and a positive attitude! Are you ready to start your journey?

Our story with Missy began early in our days of parenthood. Our boy was about 2 months old, and we were at the end of our rope. We had to hold our boy for every daytime nap and at night he wouldn’t sleep for longer than 30 minutes in his crib.

I remember one night standing over his crib trying to rock him to sleep. It was about the 10th time my husband and I had tried this that night. I was so tired I felt my knees begin to buckle and I almost dropped him. I realized in that moment that we were no longer safe to continue as we were. It truly wasn’t healthy for any of us. The next day as I cried and held our boy for one of his naps, I began to search the internet for some beacon of hope.

And that is when we found our beloved Missy. She quickly scheduled with us and within a few days was on our doorstep. I think I might’ve burst into tears the second she came in. Her presence was calming and confident. She took time with us to get to the truth of our reality. Without judgement she helped us to analyze our situation and was able to offer some immediate solutions that helped us as early as that evening.

From that point on she spent intentional time coaching us on how to better help our child sleep. She equipped us with soothing techniques and helped us implement routines that set our boy up for a win.

It was always with the kindness of a friend but the professionalism of someone well studied in their craft. She made herself available, checked in on us and is someone we cherish to this day.

I’m happy to report that at 4 months old our boy now sleeps 13 hours a night (oh my gosh I can’t even believe I get to write that!!) He is also now able to self soothe and takes 3 strong naps a day.

Having the sleep that he so desperately needed has helped him to grow cognitively and gives us all a better quality of life. Missy is our hero, and we cannot thank her enough!
